  1. Dr. Coop’s book is an excellent manual for the average player attempting to improve the mental part of their game. He combines psychological theory with stories from the Tour and average players into an entertaining read. His chapter ending reviews are extremely helpful to sort out the most important points in the book. His approach to the mental side of the golf game will definately lower your scores. He has lowered mine. After all, isn’t that why we buy these things! Check out his other book, the New Golf Mind.

  2. There are several books that are all reputedly good on this subject, but I certainly have no hesitation in recommending this one. It is interesting and well-written, and a genuinely helpful and practical guide to the mental side of the game. What’s more, I found my scores dropping after I had implemented some of the techniques!

  5. Coop has worked with some prominent players, especially Payne Stewart who writes a forward.

He explains what major role our thinking brings to the course, then proceeds to talk about this mental side in our moving from the practice tee to the first tee, preshot routine, even a chapter on the mental side of hitting the ball long.

This book has some great helps, but I found it a little overwhelming in terms of the amount of stuff to try and remember and work on mentally.

Find Bob Rotella’s advice more basic and easy to retain and apply. However, this book might just ring more bells with some than me.
